DANIEL GEE HUSSON

From my first theatrical role as Farmer Black (non-speaking part) in THE GREAT CROSS COUNTRY RACE by Alan Broadhurst, I knew I wanted to be involved in theatre. I spent a good chunk of my formative years in London watching some of the best theatremakers at work. I am also lucky enough to have lived in New York and Chicago. Most recently I was in Scotland earning master's degrees in Playwriting & Dramaturgy (2018) and Creative Writing (2019) at the University of Glasgow. But it wasn't just the in-class education I gained in Glasgow. I got to work with some incredible companies, including Short Attention Span and Elfie Picket.

The pandemic changed a lot of things for a lot of people. After landing in the high desert of Santa Fe, I decided to officially form the On and Off Theatre Workshop. Lockdown and isolation were opportunities to create for me. I decided to focus on producing audio drama, rehearsed and recorded like radio plays and distributed like podcasts.  Check them out.

Bio for Publication: Daniel Gee Husson is a playwright, dramaturg, director, and Founding Artistic Director of the On and Off Theatre Workshop. He received two MLitts, in Playwriting & Dramaturgy in 2018 and Creative Writing in 2019, from the University of Glasgow. Recent dramaturgy and directing credits include work with Short Attention Span Theatre, Stage to Page – Glasgow, Page2Stage – Edinburgh, and Elfie Picket Theatre. His play Beneath premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022 and an excerpt of his play The Puddle Play was produced by In Motion Theatre Company as part of a night of staged readings in February 2019. As a reaction to the world we live in, his writing veers into the absurd.
